Anouar Smaoui is a senior teacher of English at the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax, Tunisia. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in EFL at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Tunis and his Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences of Sfax. He has also completed a TDC (Teacher Development Course) program at the British Council, Tunisia, where he obtained a Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT) trainer certificate. He is a PhD candidate in applied linguistics, and his research investigates the intercultural dimension in EFL education. An experienced EFL teacher and teacher trainer, he has been instrumental in the teaching of English for a variety of purposes to students from various fields and in the training of novice teachers and young researchers across the disciplines. His main research interests are deeply rooted in educational research and pedagogy, including EFL/ESL/EAP/ESP learning, language teaching pedagogy, internationalization of higher education, and educational technology, with special focus on intercultural English as a Foreign Language teaching and learning.
