Matthew McKenzie serves as the Senior Director of Southern Utah University’s Center for Teaching Innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Culver-Stockton College and a Masters of Science degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In 2009, he earned a Specialist degree in Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, where he is researching teacher agency in providing accommodations. His research interests focus on asynchronous learning, accessibility, distance education policy, and Regular & Substantive Interactions (RSI) within online learning environments. In 2023, he published a chapter in A Guide to digital accessibility: Policies, practices, tools, and professional development.
