Integration of AI, specifically GenAI in the Community of Inquiry
Discussion
Corna Olivier · opened 9 months ago
Good morning from sunny South Africa,

I’m currently working on my PhD, where I’m exploring the integration of GenAI chatbots within the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework. My goal is to develop a set of guidelines for training chatbots to effectively function as active agents in supporting meaningful interactions within this educational framework.

I have recently presented a paper which I co-authored with my supervisor on integrating GenAI chatbots in the Community of Inquiry framework. Reference including DOI to the paper: Olivier, C., Weilbach, L. (2024). Enhancing Online Learning Experiences: A Systematic Review on Integrating GenAI Chatbots into the Community of Inquiry Framework. In: van de Wetering, R., et al. Disruptive Innovation in a Digitally Connected Healthy World. I3E 2024. Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol 14907. Springer, Cham. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-031-72234-9_7

I would really value any feedback, insights, or opinions on this topic, and I’m also open to collaboration. If you are interested in exploring research or publications on AI in education, especially in relation to CoI.

Looking forward to connecting and learning from your experiences.
